Student Presentations
“Addressing Social Challenges through the Integration of Specialized Knowledge”
As a major component of the forum, a student group presentation session will be held for graduate students. Participants—including those enrolled in the Doctoral Program for World-Leading Innovative & Smart Education (WISE Program) and the Program for Leading Graduate Schools—will form interdisciplinary teams with peers from different fields and institutions. Each team will identify a social issue of their choice, determine a related topic, and work together to discuss and propose solutions. This is a hands-on initiative aimed at fostering practical collaboration across disciplines.

Special Session
“Promoting Graduate Education in the Humanities and Social Sciences: Exploring “Collaboration” as a Key Concept”
Chiba University is the only institution to have been selected for the WISE Program (Doctoral Program for World-leading Innovative & Smart Education) with a program centered on the humanities.
In this special session, we will present the initiatives of the Consortium of Graduate Schools in the Humanities and Social Sciences, established by seven institutions—Chiba University, Niigata University, Kanazawa University, Okayama University, Nagasaki University, Kumamoto University, and the National Museum of Japanese History—building on the achievements of the Program for Excellence in Graduate Schools. At the same time, we will also introduce the initiatives of the Consortium for Future Co-Creation of Four Universities, launched by Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Tokyo University of Science, Hitotsubashi University, and Ochanomizu University, and consider the promotion of graduate education in the humanities and social sciences from the perspective of building collaboration.
Furthermore, we will invite panelists, including doctoral graduates in the humanities and social sciences who are active in industry as well as representatives from economic organizations, to share their perspectives and expectations regarding the promotion of graduate education in the humanities and social sciences. Through these discussions, we aim to deepen understanding of the value and role of graduate education in the humanities and social sciences, and to contribute to its further development.
